Show from the Week of 1/26/2009

DJ Marlon Nervous Nitelife House Classics Remix
MARLON D BIO Marlon D originally from West New York Raised and worked in New York City his entire life, coming from a home of latin decent. He grew up listening to the sounds of Latin Jazz, Disco, and Motown classics. This is where his passion for music cultivated. Marlon Started his involvement in the music industry at the young age of 13 where he started helping mobile DJ’s with their events. During this time Marlon Developed a found love for music. Marlon went from promoting events in NYC’s biggest clubs to DJ’ing and Studio engineering. He grew up listening to DJ’s such as Little Louie Vega, Junior Vasquez, Frankie Knuckles, Tony Humphries, Scott Blackwell, Timmy Regisford and David Morales. His passion for music and sound grew by the minute. He took it to another level by creating his own business within the music industry that would lead him to one day being part of one of the biggest house music scene legends Underground Collective. Underground Collective was created in 1999 and originally started off to be an Underground dance event held in the meatpacking district at a club called Filter 14 ( The old Jackie 60)In the heart of New York City. The event went on to be one of the biggest success to the deep soulful house scene and a major contribution to what we do today. With the top DJ’s in the business from all around the world participating in Underground Collective it wasn’t long before the name became a staple in the NYC dance scene. Marlon then took Underground Collective and created his first record label Underground collective recordings and has produced under this name to this day. He has written records with some of the industries best such as Taana Gardner, Kem, Jellybean Benitez, Beyonce, Dennis Ferrer, Joi Cardwell, just to name a few. Some of the records went on to become classics as well such as “The U.C. anthem,” “Jesus Creates Sound” “Love will save the day,” “Kem-heaven” and many others. As time went on Marlon kept contributing to the music scene in every which way ,from continuing his U.C parties and record label to holding special events in different parts of the globe. He opened Underground Collective studios where it was used for recordings and rehearsal space. Great artist rehearsed and recorded in there such as Little Louie vega and elements of life, Kanye West Rehearsing live performances, P.Diddy rehearsing dancers tours and much more. During this time he came across to what would become a long term partner JELLYBEAN BENITEZ. Today marlon works very closely with the legendary Jellybean ( some of you might know him from his Madonna Productions or Fun House erra ) Marlon has become an “inhouse” artist on Jellybeans Label and also helped create a party called “Aint nuthing but a house party” Which today can be viewed as one of the best NYC underground Soulful dance parties around. The resident Dj’s are Marlon D and Jellybean Benitez and the parties are held on a monthly basis at only the finest of NYC clubs. Marlons First album was released on Jellybean recordings entitled “Love is key” and was distributed by Sony records. With countless releases on the Jellybean Imprint and the Underground collective recordings label, Marlon was soon upcoming in the production and engineering field” Marlon has also went on to write records and become in house artist for Strictly Rhythm and Defected records. Today he is working closely with the world reknowned labels to create more hits and classics. Marlon D’s great accomplishments has rewarded him with the endorsement and sponsorship of propellerheads software company . A Music production company based out of Germany . Marlon uses this product heavily in his productions and therefore can act as a true advocate for this music production tool. With all this Marlon D is very high in demand and continuing to develop new sounds and a creative influence than will broaden his fan base across the globe to heights one can only hope to The disc drops February 10.
