Show from the Week of 3/1/2009

Sylvia Tosun
Sylvia Tosun is back and all set to confirm her status as the electronic songstress that set dancefloors alight in 2008. Sea To Sun Recordings and Loverush Digital, are set to release ‘5 Reasons’, the stunning collaboration between Sylvia Tosun and rising stars, Loverush UK.
‘5 Reasons’ is a beautifully understated, yet euphoric production; house music with a progressive edge. Sylvia Tosun demonstrates her lyrical ability using an ancient incantation designed to bring down the elements, to represent how love and life are always reincarnated. The lyrics dance around the soaring production to create an unforgettable track.
Towards the end of 2008, Sea To Sun released Sylvia Tosun’s ‘Underlying Feeling’. The track was huge on dancefloors everywhere, topping numerous dance charts in the UK and establishing Sylvia Tosun as a name to watch. It swept across the dancefloors of Europe before hitting the top 10 in the Billboard Dance chart in the US where it stayed for 4 weeks. Sylvia’s aim to ‘merge the worlds of classic songwriting with electronic music for the dancefloor’ had already delivered a classic.
Loverush UK have been steadily building a name for themselves since 2007, releasing a string of quality releases, collaborating with a range of artists including Boy George, Marcella Detroit, Kirsty Hawkshaw and more. Most recently, the production duo of Mark Loverush and Kinky Roland saw their track ‘Fountains Of Youth featuring Molly Bancroft, hit the Music Week Club Chart top 40 for an incredible 13 weeks. Now they have upped the quality yet again with ‘5 Reasons’.
As always, Sea To Sun Recordings and Loverush Digital can be relied upon to deliver a fantastic remix package. Riley & Durrant step up to drop a mix with old skool synths and breaks alongside a huge electro bassline that is destined to become a classic. Two rising stars of the New York scene, Sted-E and Hybrid Heights team up to deliver a cool, house groove with intricately layered sounds that allows the vocal to drift over the top to great effect. Arnold T ably takes the track in a trance direction injecting some energetic riffs and uplifting stabs. Avatar One delivers a mix with an array of trance influenced sounds underpinned by a breakbeat guaranteed to keep you moving.
